Roller Girl


 Roller Girl is a book about friendship and passion. The main character Astrid, and her best friend Nicole, decide to go on different paths. Nicole decides to go to dance camp to learn pointe with her new friend Rachel (who Astrid despises), instead of roller skate camp with Astrid. This causes friendship issues. Astrid has to figure out skate camp all by herself.

I like this book because it's cool to read about how other people react to hard changes in life. And also how people can be so passionate about things that they really love. Astrid really loves skating, but she has to make a hard choice even if that means going to skate camp without Nicole.

I would recommend this book for people who like action, drama and braveness. Astrid could be a great role model for you!

Guts is a book that includes vomiting, bullying and guts! When Raina, the main character, and her best friend Jane do an LDI (lecture demonstration and instruction) about Girl Scouts, she has to run to the bathroom with a stomach ache! This kind of thing happens a lot in this book! If you can believe it, I recommend this book! I actually love it! It's great because it's really funny. It talks about things that people don't normally talk about. And it's cool to see what a strong relationship Jane and Raina have. There are also a bunch of cool cultural differences mentioned. For example, Jane is Korean and eats different food than Raina (although they both like Korean food).  I would recommend this book for people who like silliness, emotion and overall grossness. This one of my favorite books.
